Ranking: 5 Japanese Universities in top 100 Worldwide
The Center for World-Class Universities at Shanghai Jiao Tong University has released its latest ranking of the top Universities around the world. This annual ranking is a major competitor of the Times Higher Education ranking, which was published last month.
The top 100 features 5 Japanese universities, but is heavily dominated by the US with 67 universities. 13 are based in Britain. The highest ranked Japanese university is the University of Tokyo, at number 20. Cambridge (4th) and Oxford (10th), are the only other non-US institutions in the top 20.
