NTV Poll: 17.2% Approve of PM’s Handling of Fukushima Nuclear Accident

Japan Upgrades Fukushima Nuclear Accident to Top Level 7 Nuclear Event

Japanese Red Cross to Distribute USD$600 million in Donations to Quake Victims through April

According to Yomiuri, The Japanese Red Cross and 3 other organizations will begin distributing money that has been received as donations after the North-East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. The initial payouts will be made through April, and set amounts will be paid to people depending on the degree of damage suffered.

Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son Donates USD$120 million to Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Efforts

A follow up from last week’s story about SMAP’s big donation. According to Softbank, Japan’s richest man, CEO Masayoshi Son has offered to donate 10 billion yen, or about USD$120 million, to the Japan Red Cross, and other organizations that are working to provide support for those devastated by the recent earthquake and tsunami.
